Call for Piano Works

We are excited to announce a call for scores for piano works for the upcoming installment at the Horatio N May Chapel at Rosehill Cemetery in Chicago, Illinois on April 11th, 2025. The Altered Bodies Concert Project is a post-pandemic concert project exploring embodied performance practice, storytelling, technology, and dysphoria.

What: Solo Piano Works composed during or after the 2020 lockdown.

WhoTo be performed by Dr. Matt Mason (Roosevelt University)

Where: Horatio N May Chapel at Rosehill Cemetery in Chicago, Illinois

When: April 11th, 2025 @ 7:00pm

Piano Preparation: Non-invasive preparation is allowed

Score Preparation: PDF scores preferred. Graphic notation, handwritten scores, improvisation instructions, and text scores are permitted.

Submission Fee: $5 for Single Submission; $10 for Multiple Submissions (up to 3)

* Submission fees will be used to facilitate any necessary piano maintenance (ex. tuning pre/post-performance), promotion, and adjudication. Should submission fee be a barrier to entry, please email newthirdspaceensemble@gmail.com with the subject “Altered Bodies Application Waiver” and your name.

1) that all information above is accurate.

2) that all work submitted is original and that you are the copyright holder for all musical and nonmusical elements of the work; that you will maintain all copyright within the work.

3) that you agree to have your piece(s) considered for the Altered Body Concert as a part of this call for works.

4) that if selected, you grant us non-exclusive permission to a single performance on April 11th, 2025 at Rosehill Cemetery in Chicago, Illinois; permission for subsequent performances may be requested at a later time.

5) that you grant permission to record and/or stream the performance of this work and the preservation of the recorded performance on video hosting sites such as youtube.
